No. The school is non-denominational and open to students of all faiths and backgrounds. Families can expect a nurturing, inclusive, and values-driven culture at Maarif School in Kilmore. We are dedicated to fostering belonging by embracing diversity, promoting mutual respect, and strengthening social cohesion. Drawing on the Turkish Maarif Foundation’s experience across 55 countries, our approach equips students to become globally minded, grounded in their values, and academically prepared to thrive in an interconnected world.

Maarif fosters bilingual learning as a core part of its educational vision. Maarif School offers a well-rounded curriculum that combines academic excellence with character education and global awareness. Although Maarif is not an Islamic school, we embrace the core values of Islam. These values guide our approach to teaching, student wellbeing, and community engagement, helping to nurture ethically minded, culturally aware, and socially responsible young people.

Cultural diversity is embedded throughout the curriculum, with activities, events, and lessons that celebrate global traditions. By immersing students in different cultures, we help them develop a deeper appreciation for the richness of human heritage and a more inclusive worldview.

Maarif offers a rich array of extracurricular activities that nurture creativity, leadership, and personal growth. Students can explore music, drama, visual arts, and sports such as soccer, archery and basketball, developing teamwork and resilience.

Our programs also include distinctive Turkish cultural experiences, such as Ebru (water marbling art), Turkish folk dance, calligraphy, and literature - broadening horizons and deepening cultural appreciation. These activities complement academic learning while fostering essential life skills, social responsibility, and civic engagement.
